Bachmann Won't Commit to Boehner as Speaker

Thursday, 28 Oct 2010 03:07 PM

It appears that if the GOP regains control of the House next week, as expected, House Minority Leader John Boehner will become House Speaker. But it’s not a certainty. Powerful Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minnesota, says she won’t necessarily vote for Boehner as speaker, The Hill reports.

"Right now, we don't know exactly who the candidates will be. It may be John Boehner," she says. "If John Boehner's the only candidate running, I'll be voting for John Boehner. I would look at all the candidates and weigh it accordingly."
