Carter Back in Action After Health Scare

Former President Jimmy Carter is back in action after suffering a gastric viral infection that forced him to be removed from an airline flight last month. He was in good spirits at a dinner Monday night put on by Habitat for Humanity to honor the ex-president and his wife Jimmy Carter, health scare, good spirits, Habitat for HumanityRosalyn, Roll Call reports.

Carter, who turned 86 on Friday, joked about his favorite cartoon, which appeared in the New Yorker magazine. It shows a young boy informing his father that he hopes to be an ex-president when he grows up.

“I think sometimes President [Barack] Obama thinks about that cartoon as well as I, and everyone who’s served in the White House,” Carter said. He also appeared at a Habitat for Humanity job site Monday.
