The National Republican Senatorial Committee maintained its total cash advantage over the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee in August, though the DSRCC raised more in August. The Democrats drew $7.4 million last month, compared to just over $6 million for the NRSC, The Hill
But the NRSC has $24.5 million cash accumulated, compared to just under $23 million for the Democrats. The Republicans are actually in pretty good shape, given their status as the party out of power. Campaign money generally flows more freely to incumbents. Moreover, $1 million of the DSCC’s money in August came from Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y.
"With the election a little over six weeks away, the NRSC is well-prepared to go on offense in battleground states around the country as we work to hold the Democrats accountable for their reckless spending agenda and fight to restore checks and balances in Washington," NRSC executive director Rob Jesmer told The Hill.
