Fox News host Glenn Beck and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin have both been included in Time magazine’s list of the 100 people who most affect the world — but Beck says most Time people hate the conservative icons.
During an interview with Palin on Friday, Beck thanked her for the short essay she wrote in praise of Beck for the Time 100 issue of the magazine.
Palin, who is also on the list of 100, wrote: “Self-taught, he's become America's professor of common sense, sharing earnestly sought knowledge with an audience hungry for truth.
“Best of all, Glenn delights in driving the self-proclaimed powers-that-be crazy.”
They also discussed an upcoming gathering to fete those on the list.
“Can we make sure that we're sitting at the same table?” Beck said. “I went last year. It is a nightmare!”
Palin replied: “Well, how did you face them? Because you know that there will be criticism of, oh, yeah, she condemns the mainstream media and yet she shows up at one of the functions . . . I don't mind making a couple of people uncomfortable in the room if I'm there.”
Beck: “Yeah. You know what? They're going to say whatever they're going to say, whether we show up or we don't show up.”
Palin: “Right.”
Beck: “Last time I was sitting at the table, I don't even remember who I was sitting at the table with. Everybody at the table hated my guts.”
Beck said the list consists of “Marxists, globalists, communists and us.”
He went on to say: “I was surprised that you and I made it. You know, somebody I know that was in the room when they did the Time Man of the Year, your name and my name was brought up I think by [Rudy] Giuliani. And [magazine editor and former talk show host] Gayle King and the others in the room said, 'Oh, please.' Gayle King said, 'Don't make me vomit.' So I mean, we were thrown out immediately.”
