The liberal blogosphere came alive with vitriol for Fox News commentator Glenn Beck after he faked throwing a frog into a pot of boiling water.
It started when he said on his show: "You know the old saying . . . if you put a frog into boiling water, he's gonna jump right out because he's scalding hot, but if you place the frog in lukewarm water and gradually raise the temperature, the frog won't realize what's happening and die. Let me get the frogs."
The camera then showed him apparently picking up a tiny frog from an aquarium.
He then turned back to the camera and said: “Barack Obama has galvanized the country because of the sheer size of the bills he's proposed, and the number of the bills, the urgency he's been placing on the bills, he's forced us to think and get involved."
Then he appeared to throw the frog into a pot on a stove, as steam rose from the pan. When nothing happened, Beck turned back to the camera and said, "OK, forget the frog. I swear I thought they jumped right out, but they don't."
He quickly followed that up with, "Forget about the Republicans, because most of them are fake. Forget about the Democrats, because most of them are fake. And forget about the frog, because it was fake!"
That didn’t stop the liberal media from attacking him.
Here is what The Huffington Post had to say: “Did Glenn Beck just kill a poor little frog, on national teevee? Yes! Or . . . no, maybe it was faked! Or maybe it was real, and Beck is now having to pretend he faked it?”
In fact, so many liberal reports worked themselves into such a lather that Beck did a play-by-play follow-up to prove that no frogs were harmed in filming his commentary.
