During his campaign for the presidency, Barack Obama made no secret of his determination to transform America into something entirely different from what it has been for two centuries.

Few voters paid much attention to the many hints visible in his campaign of exactly what kind of transformation he was planning to implement if given the opportunity. They either were not aware of his weird background, mostly kept out of view by a media smitten with a candidate they saw as a messiah, here to drive the money changers out of the secular temple of Washington, or intrigued by what appeared to be a new kind of presidential hopeful apparently unstained by the muck and mire of Chicago politics.

It never occurred to the majority of voters who chose to make him the most powerful man in the world that he was a full-blown product of one of the most corrupt political machines in America, where if one wanted to get along one must go all out to go along.

Also studiously ignored was his life-long habit of hanging around almost exclusively with denizens of the feted swamps of ultra-leftism starting with his tutelage under the communist Frank Marshall and his association with would-be and unrepentant Pentagon bomber Bill Ayers.

In candidate Obama, one could get more than a glimpse of an ardent Marxist posing as a reasonable left-wing Democrat if one looked closely enough at his past. The media didn't (or wouldn't) and as a result, neither did a majority of voters.

We are now paying the price for that ignorance. Shored up by an obscene majority of his supporters in Congress, Barack Obama is busy pushing through the most radical agenda any president has ever advocated.

He's in a hurry. November and the congressional elections are threateningly close. A GOP-controlled congress could stop him and his agenda dead in his tracks. It is therefore incumbent upon the Republican minority to play the part of the “party of no,” or as Louisiana's Gov. Bobby Jindal says, the "party of hell no!"

This will discomfort the media which will loudly condemn the GOP for doing what they should be doing as an outnumbered minority — namely saying "hell no" to their opponents' socialist agenda.

To hell with the media. Up the rebels!
