Real estate mogul Donald Trump, who floated the idea of a presidential bid in 1988, says he didn’t commission a poll of New Hampshire Republicans to gauge what they think of him as a presidential candidate. But Trump does say the country needs a strong leader, Politico reports.
Mark Halperin of Time magazine first cited the poll early Monday. It includes 30 questions about the Donald, as he’s known. The poll “asked if voters had heard that Trump donated to Democrats in the past and if they thought his high-profile appearances on TV would help or hurt him in a political race,” Halperin wrote. Results of the poll aren’t yet available.
“I never heard of this poll but I'm anxious to find out what it says,” Trump said on CNN’s “American Morning.” “It's not something I talked about or consider, but somebody has to do something or this country is not going to be a very great country for long,” Trump added.
