Texas Gov. Rick Perry took last weekend's packed prayer convention as as good sign for his possible GOP presidential bid, and some of his advisers are suggesting he may enter the race within a week
, according to U.S. News & World Report.
"He will be in the race within seven to 14 days," the adviser tells Washington Whispers, a political blog for the online edition.
His entry would fire up a GOP field where no one candidate seems to have -- as of yet -- captured the attention of the voters. If he does enter the race this weekend, it's likely tht it would spark the upcoming primaries and cancel out any effect of the Iowa Straw Poll on Saturday.
The weekend prayer event, aides tell Whispers, gave Perry a chance to caputre some media attention and to reach out to his evangelical constituents.
