Former Rep. Eric Massa, D-N.Y., is the subject of an ongoing probe of allegations that he groped male staffers attached to his Congressional office in the nation's capital, according to sources cited in a Washington Post story.

One of the Post's sources noted that the charges of inappropriate behavior cover incidents over the last year, involving "a pattern of behavior and physical harassment."

Massa resigned his office on Monday -- after it emerged that he was the target of a House ethics committee investigation for possible harassment.

Massa claimed that any errant conduct was limited to the use of "salty language" in exhanges with his staff. He apologized for the comments and argued he was being set up because of his lack of support for the President's healthcare reform, according to the washingtonpost.com report.
