New York Republican Rep. Peter King tells Newsmax he fully expects former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney to win the New Hampshire Primary. “It’s a question of how much he wins by,” King says.
“If it’s less than 35 percent, I think it’s going to create some problems for him,” King tells Newsmax.
King also says he backs New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie as a solid vice presidential candidate.
“I think he would be a good choice. I would certainly urge Gov. Romney to pick him. There are obviously other people; Marco Rubio would be a good choice. Right now, I see Gov. Christie being the person with the most conservative record who could also appeal to who we used to call the Reagan Democrats.
“The Catholic ethnics, the conservative Jews, people who historically may have voted Democrat, but when they feel their values are being betrayed, such as they were by Jimmy Carter, and they voted for Ronald Reagan: They now see what President Obama is doing and they will vote for a Republican if there is someone on the ticket if they can identify with. I think they can identify with Chris Christie.”
