Former Minnesota governor and likely Republican presidential candidate Tim Pawlenty
is having dinner with the sponsor of what has been called New Hampshire’s “birther” bill.
Pawlenty is scheduled to dine in the nation’s first primary state with Granite State Patriots Liberty PAC leader Jerry DeLemus and his wife Susan DeLemus, a freshman New Hampshire state representative, Roll Call reports
Susan DeLemus is the lead sponsor of a bill that would require presidential primary candidates to provide their birth certificate and a sworn affidavit that they have lived in the United States for 14 years.
Conservative activists dubbed “birthers” have called on President Barack Obama to provide a birth certificate proving that he was born in this country.
