Both Democrats and Republicans have criticized President Barack Obama for a lack of leadership, particularly on budget issues. And House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan sounded the theme Wednesday at a meeting with Obama, The Hill reports

Ryan isn’t too pleased about the president’s criticism of the budget plan he offered and told Obama, “Leadership should come from the top,” according to Rep. Pete King, R-N.Y., who also attended the meeting.
“As far as Medicare is concerned, we wanted to make sure the president understood the facts about our proposal so he doesn’t continue to mischaracterize it. We just needed to clear the air,” Ryan told reporters.
Ryan was “politely critical” of the president, King said. “Ours was a good proposal. It was wrong to accuse us of turning our backs on autistic children or putting senior citizens out on the street,” the New York representative said.
