Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has taken to the airwaves to defend Fox News commentator Glenn Beck from an assault by the liberal media advocacy group Media Matters for America. Media Matters CEO David Brock has recently urged News Corp., owner of Fox, to fire Beck, Politico reports.

Palin, Beck, Brock, Media MattersBrock says Palin should distance herself from Beck to prevent conservatives from going too far in their opposition to the federal government. Palin responded in an interview on Beck’s radio show.

“I go back to what Abraham Lincoln said about standing with anybody who stands right,” she says. “You stand with him when he stands right, you part with him when he goes wrong. I stand with you, Glenn.”

And what does she think of Media Matters? “They’re the same folks that are insisting that I should be ignored because I am the irrelevant hockey mom.”
