Rep. Peter King is riled that President Barack Obama’s State of the Union speech did not address the issue of where to convene trials for suspected terrorists. The New York Republican, who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee, says the president’s silence on the volatile issue let Americans down, The Hill reports

“I had hoped to hear the president tell the American people, once and for all, that he has abandoned his plan to hold trials for 9/11 terrorists in New York or anywhere else in the United States,” King says. “Unfortunately, he failed to make this commitment.”
King also repeated his call for Obama to come up with a strong security plan for the U.S.-Mexico border. “After hearing the president make but one cursory mention of border security, while at the same time promote amnesty, I am even more convinced that the Obama administration simply lacks a sense of urgency when it comes to securing our borders,” he says.
