NRCC Reports $9 Million Fundraising Haul in June

Tuesday, 20 Jul 2010 03:55 PM

Congressional Republicans are counting the dollar signs in their $9 million in fundraising in June as another sign that the GOP is gaining momentum headed to the midterm elections.

The June tally that the National Republican Congressional Committee reported Tuesday raised its cash on hand to $17 million, according to CNN’s politicalticker blog.

Although the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee hasn’t reported June numbers yet, politicalticker noted that the Republican committee “has neared parity with their Democratic counterparts in fundraising after two cycles of being severely outraised.”

Despite that optimistic sign, Democrats still have a bigger balance, the CNN blog reported. Numbers filed with the Federal Elections Commission at the end of May showed Democrats with $28 million in the bank at that time.
