Website Takes Aim at 'Secret Liberal' Romney

Tuesday, 12 Jul 2011 11:36 AM

A website decrying the politics of Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney was launched last week, reports DailyCaller.com. RomneyExposed.com, which contains an open letter, videos of the candidate, and an area where guests can add their names to the letter, Mitt Romney, 2012 Presidential Electionclaims that Romney is a secret liberal whose “candidacy would be disastrous for the conservative movement and for the country.”

The site was launched by Steve Baldwin, president of Baldwin Research and Consulting and a former California lawmaker.

Baldwin told the Caller that he has been keeping track of Romney’s moves for a decade. His site says Romney raised taxes, killed job growth, and was no friend of business as governor of Massachusetts. It also cites Romney’s continuing reversal on several key issues over the years, his alleged membership in a group that supported stem cell research, gay rights, and abortion rights, and his championing of gay marriage in the state.

“He’s been on every side of every issue,” said Baldwin.

Tea party groups, the site says, “view [Romney] — for good reason — as precisely the type of shallow, slick, manufactured career politician they believe has wrecked this country over the last few decades.”
