President Barack Obama is nothing more than a Jimmy Carter retread and the country deserves a waiver from the first two years of his presidency, Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., told an enthusiastic audience at the Iowa conservative principles conference during the weekend.

Michele Bachmann, photo, Minnesota, Republican, IowaBachmann made her case with a slide show of numbers about the national debt, gasoline costs, and the corporate tax to illustrate how things have deteriorated during Obama’s presidency, Politico reported.

Bachmann’s speech was the best received of the 2012 presidential hopefuls who appeared at Iowa Republican Rep. Steve King’s conference in Des Moines. She described the U.S. tax code as “a weapon of mass destruction" and said, “Does anyone remember the trillion dollar stimulus bill? Did President Obama correctly diagnose the problem with job creation? . . . What’s his level of credibility on job creation?”

"The Constitution holds the answer . . . We the people," she said according to Politico. "We are the answer to the problem today in the United States because you need to be pushed back in charge of your own health care . . . The federal government doesn’t have a clue how to create jobs. You do."
