Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., has added a note of levity to the furor over National Public Radio for its summary dismissal of correspondent Juan Williams. Given the recent announcement of a gift to NPR from George Soros, perhaps the network could create shows called "Dancing with the Czars," "Socialist Survivor" and “Lost: The Obama Presidency,” Issa says, according to The Hill.

juan, williams, issa, jokeSoros’ Open Society Foundation announced earlier this month that it will give a $1.8 million grant to NPR. The hedge fund legend is a major supporter of Democratic causes and philanthropy in Eastern Europe.

"With NPR benefiting from the generosity of people like MoveOn.org financier George Soros, it’s obvious that NPR is now a self-sustaining entity that no longer needs to rely on federal funds. As an independent entity, they will be free to serve Mr. Soros’s far-left agenda," says Issa, ranking member of the House Oversight Committee.

Other Republicans too seek to defund NPR.
