Political author Bob Woodward had it wrong when he said Hillary Clinton might end up joining President Obama on the Democrats’ 2012 ticket, her ex-advisers say. What the secretary of state really wants is to run for president again in 2016, they tell Politico
Clinton herself and the White House said Wednesday that she won’t be Obama’s 2012 running mate. There has been some talk that Vice President Biden will resign (voluntarily or involuntarily) after his first term.
And what do insiders say about a possible Clinton vice presidential run? “Not happening,” says one of her top 2008 campaign officials “Stay tuned for 2016.”
James Carville, Bill Clinton’s campaign manager, will certainly stay tuned. “Once you run for president you always want to be president,” he told Politico. “My assumption is that once you’ve run you’re going to run again.”
