House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says that Congress will soon produce a health overhaul bill, regardless of who wins the Massachusetts special Senate election.

The California Democrat told reporters Tuesday that "our eye is on the ball of passing legislation." She said that the House, Senate and White House are continuing to narrow their differences and work toward a compromise.

She says the country will get "affordable health care for all Americans" no matter what happens in Massachusetts.

Pelosi spoke as Massachusetts voters were at the polls, picking the successor to the late Democratic Sen. Edward Kennedy. That seat represents the 60th vote Democrats need to get a health bill through the Senate.
