Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, a likely candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, is in New Hampshire, making Haley Barbour, New Hampshire, 2012 Presidential Electionfriends with Republican heavyweights there, Politico reports.

He was the center piece of a meeting with Republican activists at the home of former state GOP chairwoman Jayne Millerick. She supported John McCain in 2008 and hasn’t yet committed to a candidate this time around. Barbour held another meeting with a small group of elected officials, a knowledgeable source told Politico.

Few of Millerick’s guests had much knowledge of Barbour. One of them even requested that Barbour give a quick biography for those who don’t know much about the former chairman of the Republican National Committee. Barbour enjoys the politicking, an aide said.
