Group Urges Investigation of Google-Obama Ties

Thursday, 11 Nov 2010 04:59 PM

High technology companies are known for being close to Democrats. So it should be no surprise that The National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC), a group that favors a smaller and more ethical government, is urging the House Oversight Committee to investigate what it sees as too close a relationship between Google and the White House, The Hill reports.

Google, Obama, ties, NLPC, HouseThe group wants the committee to investigate whether Google’s chummy ties with the White House helped it avoid penalties after a major privacy violation by the company.

Google, Obama, ties, NLPC, HouseIn a letter to the committee, the NLPC urges it to examine "a growing body of evidence" that the administration's "unusually close relationship with Google has resulted in favoritism toward the company on federal policy issues."

The letter says, "Like Halliburton in the previous administration, Google has an exceptionally close relationship with the current administration."
