Glenn Beck poked fun on his radio show Monday at audio clips from a Communist Party USA event at which a speaker said the party wants to “reclaim” Independence Day, complaining that “the right wing has hijacked some of our holidays.”
“They make it sound like we’re unpatriotic,” a speaker is heard at a dinner for the Missouri/Kansas division of the party.
Guffaws then erupted among Beck and his colleagues, according to
Mediaite.com.
Communists have “only been trying to destroy the American way of life since 1868,” said Beck, adding that “May Day, you communist freak,” is the only holiday that the far left can claim rightfully.
Beck offered a litany of leftist claims that he said attempted to rewrite history. “They are doing it. ‘Jesus was a Marxist,’” said Beck, who then said jokingly that communists could claim Easter because of the redistribution of eggs from the chickens to the rabbits.
