Giuliani Warns About Terrorism During '12 Conventions

Rudy Giuliani knows terrorism, having served as mayor of New York City during the 9/11 attacks. So it bears noting that the potential Republican presidential candidate is warning about the possibility of terrorism at both parties’ nominating conventions in 2012, as Politico reports.

Rudy Giuliani, conventions, terrorismAt a speech Tuesday in Charlotte, N.C., which will host the Democratic National Convention, he said, "The conventions will always be targets," WSCOTV.com reports. "They always are. Not only because of the presence of the president and presidential candidates, but the presence of so many significant people. It's just a place for terrorists and would-be terrorists to make a statement."

The Republican convention will take place in New York City, and it goes without saying that both cities want to guard vigilantly against terrorism. "You want everyone to leave your city enjoying it, because the benefit to your city is people wanting to come back," Giuliani said.
