Rudy Giuliani is the most popular presidential candidate among military veterans and Hillary Clinton is the most unpopular, a new Gallup poll reveals.

Giuliani was viewed favorably by 64 percent of veterans polled, while only 29 percent said they view him unfavorably.

Only 37 percent of respondents viewed Clinton favorably, and 59 percent gave her a negative rating, according to poll results reported by the New York Post.

“Hillary Clinton is the only candidate who is viewed much more negatively than positively by veterans,” said Gallup managing editor Jeff Jones. “Clinton would seem to be at a decided disadvantage among veterans, given that roughly 9 in 10 in the sample are men.”

Giuliani’s favorable rating surpassed that of John McCain, a decorated Vietnam POW, who was viewed favorably by 52 percent of vets and unfavorably by 40 percent. Giuliani obtained an occupational deferment during the war in Vietnam.

The news is not all bad for Hillary, however – her favorable rating among Democratic vets was 41 percent, while rival Democratic candidate Barack Obama was viewed favorably by only 30 percent.
