Giuliani Warns Against Rushed News Corp. Judgment

Thursday, 14 Jul 2011 10:27 PM

MANCHESTER, N.H. — New York's mayor at the time of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks says people shouldn't rush to judgment in the growing investigation of the media conglomerate News Corp.

Rudy Giuliani told New Hampshire voters late Thursday that the company's chief executive, Rupert Murdoch, is a very honorable, honest man.

Giuliani says he has confidence in Murdoch, a regular acquaintance, despite allegations that one of Murdoch's companies may have tapped into the voicemail of 9/11 victims.

The FBI has begun a preliminary inquiry into the hacking allegations based on concerns in Congress.

Giuliani's comments came during an interview with CNN at Manchester Harley Davidson, his third public stop on the first day of his latest Granite State tour. He's exploring a possible second run for the White House.
