Rudy Giuliani is betting the farm on Florida's GOP primary.

On the heels of reports that some campaign aides have been asked to go without salaries this month and perhaps longer the former New York City mayor told CBS News he will spend just about all the cash his campaign has left to win the January 29 Florida primary, a key state in his win-the-big-states campaign strategy.

“We’ll have some [money left], but frankly, you know, Florida is real important to us, so we’re gonna put if not everything into Florida, almost everything,” Giuliani told the network.

Speaking of his campaign staff going without their salaries, he told CBS News, “Well, some people volunteered to do it. We didn’t ask anyone to do it. Some people volunteered to do it because they wanted to stretch out the money. We’ve got quite a bit of money and they wanted to make sure we had even more money for the end of this situation in Florida, so that we could have I guess enough [to spend] on the air or whatever.”

Asked if he has been overspending, he said, “No, just the opposite, we don’t have any debt; we don’t have any liabilities of any kind. We have a good deal of money in the bank, probably more than just about any other campaign. This was an effort to try and stretch dollars even further. So it’s just the opposite, we’re one of the most fiscally conservative of the campaigns, certainly on the Republican side.”
