Monday, 29 Nov 2010 08:28 AM

Former Sen. George Allen, R-Va., (pictured) may be positioning for a comeback run against foe Jim Webb, D-Va. Allen persists as one of the state's most popular Republicans -- with a recent poll tapping him as the strong favorite among Republicans in the old Dominion, according to The Hill.

But the wait-and-see stategy is not good enough for Webb supporters, who think that the ambivalent former Marine should get serious about 2012 immediately.

"If Webb doesn't get off his butt and start acting like he wants the job, we're in trouble," said an anonymous strategist. "He's probably our best bet, but he isn't doing anything he needs to do."
