When it comes to President Barack Obama’s response to the nuclear disaster in Japan, some Republicans approve, The Hill reports
.while others disapprove,
Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich
is one of the critics. “We ought to have a scientific commission made up of nuclear physicists and nuclear engineers, not politicians, not people who already have a predisposed opinion, but real experts, to start digging into what has happened, what is happening, what are the implications for American policy,” he told Fox News.
But others are more supportive of the president. “It appears to me that they are providing what has been requested, and they are giving expert advice when asked, which I think is the appropriate thing to do,” said Kentucky Rep. Ed Whitfield, a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
