Donald Trump lashed out at President Barack Obama on Thursday night, saying the incumbent is "not a nice person" and is "meant to be beaten."
"People don't know the real Obama," Trump told TV host Sean Hannity. "The real Obama is a much different man than people think. The real Obama is a much different person, and the real Obama is laughing at how stupid people are. And by the way, he's no genius."
He said Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney are "both good men, both good people" but hedged on an endorsement while leaving open the possibility of an independent run for the Oval Office.
"I would love to debate Obama,” Trump said. “I mean, you have so much material."
The “Celebrity Apprentice” star said he is hopeful the Republican candidates will hold their own until the nomination.
"The Republicans have to be careful that they don't self-destruct sometime prior to the election," he said. "I think Obama's meant to be beaten."
