House Majority Leader Eric Cantor
sends a resounding message to Conservatives that the GOP agenda concerning the economy and abortion is right on course, according to rollcall.com report
In addressing the Value Voters Summit this weekend in Washington, the Virginia Republican told a packed audience the party will continue to fight President Barack Obama's economic policies and will battle for more restrictions on abortion procedures.
To a standing ovation, Cantor said the GOP is comitted to, "protecting and expanding personal liberty."
He emphasized the party has worked together to stand in the way of federal funding for abortions. Cantor said next week the GOP will, "stand up again so no healthcare worker has to participate in abortions against their will."
"We look forward to a Senate and White House that will partner with us" to stand against funding, "for any and all organizations that perform abortions."
With regard to the economy, Cantor told the Summit gathering President Obama believes, "The best policy is to increase taxes on small business men and women."
"We believe in empowering people. We believe in empowering entrepreneurs," Cantor said to another ovation.
In addressing the wave of protests across the country, Cantor referred to, "growing mobs occupying Wall Street and other cities" which he says some people in Washington appear to support.
Some in Washington, "Condoned this pitting of Americans versus Americans," Cantor said.
In speaking about Middle East concerns, Cantor said United States and Israeli security, "go hand in hand."
He said the United States, "has to stand up against the spread of militant Islam."
