Boehner, RNC Rip Obama’s Economic Policy

With economic growth stagnating at a 1.8 percent annual rate in the first quarter and unemployment at 9.1 percent in May, Republicans have plenty of ammunition to attack President Barack Obama on the economy. And that’s exactly what they’re doing, The Hill reports.

gop unemployment obamaSpecifically, they’re mocking the president’s campaign to highlight the “recovery summer” a year ago. "The anniversary of President Obama’s 'Recovery Summer' publicity stunt is a good reminder that families and small businesses in Ohio and across the country can’t afford more spending and more debt,” House Speaker John Boehner wrote in the National Journal. “They need more jobs. And Republicans are listening."

Meanwhile, the Republican National Committee sent an email stating: "One year later, Obama's recovery remains a failure while economists are delivering a grim prognosis for the future. Now the economy is threatened by a double dip as small businesses, manufacturing and the housing market run out of steam."
