The easy part of House Speaker John Boehner’s tenure already has run its course. Under his guidance, Republicans, who now control the House, voted unanimously to repeal the new healthcare law, to trim Congress’ own spending, and built up their arguments for slashing the budget deficit, which will dominate the agenda in coming weeks, The Hill reports.

But the unanimity will come to an end soon, as Boehner has to deal with differing Republican views on a continuing budget resolution to finance government operations this year, a longer-term plan to cut the budget deficit and Democrats’ effort to push the government debt ceiling beyond its current limit of $14.3 trillion.

“We have to work our will in the House. We have to work with our colleagues in the Senate and put something on the president’s desk,” Boehner says.
