The Obama administration sits in grave fear of investigations House Republicans could launch over its policies in the new Congress. So it’s no wonder that Vice President Joe Biden has made plans for a meeting with incoming House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (pictured)
to discuss the 2009 economic fiscal stimulus package, which totaled $862 billion, Politico reports
Biden and Issa were slated to meet Monday, sources tell the news service. But the vice president, who has meetings with stimulus chief Earl Devaney and Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer Monday, postponed the meeting.
Issa maintains that inspectors general at federal agencies should have subpoena power to give them more leverage in looking into charges of abuse in government spending.
