Bachmann, who has scheduled the formal announcement to kick off her candidacy for Monday in Waterloo, Iowa, wants to rev up the crowd the night before.

Michele Bachmann, Waterloo, GOPIn a radio commercial airing in Iowa today, Bachmann proclaims: "Waterloo is my hometown, and I'm a candidate for the presidency of the United States. I would like to personally invite you to join me this Sunday evening at Waterloo's famous Electric Park Ballroom at 5:30 p.m."

Although Bachmann lives in Minnesota and represents the Gopher State in Congress, she was born in Iowa.

"Iowa is not just another state on the presidential campaign trail," the commercial’s narrator observes. "For Michele Bachmann, Iowa will always be home."

"Bring family, friends, and a few lawn chairs," the ad proclaims. "Let's make history together in Waterloo."
