1. Lindsay Lohan’s Dad Bawls Out Obama

Lindsay Lohan has stepped forward and volunteered to campaign for Barack Obama. But the Obama campaign rejected her offer, which made Lindsay’s dad hopping mad.

Now Michael Lohan is letting the world know exactly what he thinks about the Democratic nominee.

It seems that Lindsay had offered to host some campaign events in order to attract younger voters.

The actress “'is not exactly the kind of high-profile star who would be a positive for us,” a high-ranking source inside the Obama campaign told the Chicago Sun Times.

Friends of Lohan said that she was hurt by the Obama rebuff.

Her father blasted the Illinois senator: “For Barack Obama to condemn my daughter for past indiscretions when he admitted to the exact same himself is indicative of what kind of president he would be,” Mr. Lohan told Fox News. “His visions of a positive future for this country should be representative of a positive future for people as well. It is looking beyond the difficult times and letting go of the past.”

Referring to the tumultuous life that Obama lived as a youth, Mr. Lohan admonished the Democratic nominee some more, pointing out the hypocrisy of moving beyond his own past while rejecting Lindsay because of hers.

“Obviously, Obama can do this for himself and not others, when in fact a good president should have hope for all,” he said.

2. Val Kilmer As Governor Batman?

The current governor of New Mexico, Democrat Bill Richardson, is term-limited out.

When politicians are no longer able to run for re-election, what they frequently do is talk up a possible successor.

Who’s Richardson chatting up? It’s Hollywood actor Val Kilmer.

Is Richardson trying to steal a page from California’s handbook, where with Hollywood flair “Terminator” star Arnold Schwarzenegger took the governor’s mansion?

“I like the idea,” Richardson said. “Val Kilmer is a New Mexican; he was Batman. You know there have been successful actors going into politics. I haven't talked to him about it; I don't know how serious he is; but you know if he jumps in a race he's got name ID, so it can't be discounted.”

Richardson’s second term ends in 2011, which gives Kilmer time to put together a team and maybe even do another superhero flick.

3. Sandra Bernhard Stumbles Over Sarah Palin Slam

Sandra Bernhard claims that a recent line she threw out about GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin was just part of her New York act.

The so-called comic said Palin would be “gang-raped by my big black brothers” if she entered Manhattan, according to the New York Daily News.

Bernhard is claiming that the ugly statement was “part of a much larger, nuanced and, yes, provocative — that's what I do — piece from my show about racism, freedom, women's rights and the extreme views of Governor Sarah Palin, a woman who doesn't believe that other women should have the right to choose.”

Her stage show, titled “Without You I'm Nothing,” is scheduled to come to the nation’s capital during September.

“Women deserve better,” Bernhard added.

She then attempted to clarify things but not without giving another jab.

“I certainly wish Governor Palin no harm. I'd just like her to explain to me how she can hold such outrageous views and then go back to Alaska,” Bernhard said.

She told the Express Night Out Web site, “I’ll have things to say about John McCain — and Cindy McCain, who I find to be a Barbie doll hooker, you know. But I'll find a fun way to say it.”

More fun? Guess even that word has to be redefined.

4. Woody Allen’s Election Angst

Woody Allen is apparently worried.

Much like a character out of one of his films, the famed filmmaker seems to be engaged in some heavy hand wringing.

His concerns involve a possible Barack Obama loss, a turn of events he would evidently find quite distressing.

"It would be a disgrace and a humiliation if Barack Obama does not win,” Allen told the press while in Spain at the San Sebastian Film Festival.

“It would be a very, very terrible thing for the United States in many, many ways,” Allen said.

He continued fretting. Expressing concern about politics as usual, he said, “It would be a terrible thing if the American public was not moved to vote for him [Obama], that they actually preferred more of the same.”

A McCain victory just might make him go bananas.

5. YouTube Censors Video on Obama's Abortion Votes

YouTube has ordered the removal of a video from its site.

The starring character of the exiled video is none other than Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.

The Kansas Coalition for Life has produced a film clip called “Obama: WRONG Change for Children.” It provides facts on Obama's voting record on abortion-related bills, including his refusal to ban partial birth abortion, his refusal to grant parental notification before an abortion is performed on a minor, and his refusal to protect babies born alive as the result of a botched abortion procedure.

YouTube sent the Kansas Coalition for Life a boilerplate note stating that the video was being blocked because it did not meet a “Community Guideline.”

The “problem” with the video appears to be that it exposes some facts about Obama that may potentially turn some voters against him.

“The video is in no way distasteful, pornographic, or outside of the ordinary,” the Kansas group’s director Mark Gietzen says.

The piece starts with a disclaimer, which warns of upcoming “graphic images” that “Obama supports.”

Although it briefly shows a photo of an aborted baby, YouTube has a large number of similar images of aborted children posted on its site.

According to Gietzen, the video “was pulled only because it makes a simple, clear statement about what Obama's change is all about.”

Operation Rescue, a pro-life organization, has come to the free expression rescue and posted the video on its site.

The YouTube execs who booted “Obama: WRONG Change for Children” might try Googling the words “political” and “censorship.”
