The Dove Chocolate company is voluntarily recalling its Dark Chocolate-Covered Fruit Collection boxes because some may contain undeclared nuts that could cause severe or even life-threatening reactions in people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to nuts.

No illnesses or reactions have been reported, but as a precaution Dove is issuing the recall and attempted to contact all recipients of the affected boxes. Dove officials said the products were sold through the company’s home-party business sales and were not available in stores.

The interior packaging is labeled properly indicating a product that includes nuts, company officials said. But the recall was triggered by a customer who said a box of Dark Chocolate-Covered Fruit Collection purchased actually contained Dark Chocolate Cinnamon Dusted Almonds.

The recalled item contains a product label #3265 and lot code #317DAIDS01. Customers who purchased the product are urged to contact the company at 866-922-3683 for product return and replacement.
