A veteran Oregon lawman has told the White House he’ll refuse to enforce any and all regulations proposed by President Barack Obama,
CNN reports.
“Politicians are attempting to exploit the death of innocent victims for laws that would prevent honest, law-abiding Americans from possessing certain firearms and ammunition magazines,’’ Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says in a defiant letter to Vice President Joe Biden.
“Any federal regulation enacted by Congress or by executive order by the President offending the Constitutional rights of my citizens shall not be enforced by me or by my deputies.’’

He adds that he’ll also prohibit federal law enforcers operating within Linn County from those regulations.
The letter, which Mueller also posted on his department’s Facebook page, has been “liked’’ by nearly 30,000 people.
One commenter, Brian Gunzenhauser, gushed: “I support you 100 percent Sheriff Tim!!!!’’
Another, Sandy Lloyd, said, “Thank God for citizens like Tim Mueller. When push comes to shove I hope there are many more with the courage of their convictions to stand against tyranny.’’
But not all of those who responded approved of Mueller’s proposed disobedience.
“How is it an elected official can say they won't do their job and expect to keep it,’’ wrote Karl Baker. “I would say the Sherriff should be removed from office.
Mueller is one of several lawmen across the nation who vow to disobey any new laws they feel are unconstitutional.
Denny Peyman, the sheriff of Jackson County, Ky., told residents in a town hall meeting that he has more power than the federal government, adding: “They need to go back and study that. We are a commonwealth.’’
