JPMorgan Chase & Co. Chief Executive Officer Jamie Dimon welcomed the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on gay marriage.

“This is good for our company and clients, but more importantly, it’s the right thing to do,” Dimon said today in a statement from the New York-based bank, the largest in the U.S. by assets. “We believe the rights of all people are important and must be protected.”

Dimon’s company employed more than 255,000 people at the end of the first quarter.
