A source close to the House leadership tells Newsmax that Speaker John
Boehner has the votes to pass the Senate compromise tax bill.

The vote will take place Tuesday night and has bipartisan support from the Republican and Democratic caucus.

The Senate bill makes the Bush tax cuts permanent, except for high income earners making over $400,000 a year or couples making $450,000.

Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform has said he supports the
deal, noting its renews 84 percent of the revenue saved by the Bush tax cuts.

If the Republicans would not agree to the compromise bill, all of the Bush
tax cuts would remain expired.
