Veteran financial guru and former Ronald Reagan adviser Larry Kudlow urged congressional Republicans to resist squandering their “phenomenal opportunity” to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act during a recent interview on “The Laura Ingraham Show.”

Kudlow said Republicans are in danger of wasting the gift they’ve been given. With control of the White House and majorities in the House and Senate, GOP officials have no excuse to delay, Kudlow told Laura Ingraham.

“I’m gonna tell you — the longer they wait, the less the economy is going to grow and the slower this process is gonna take,” the Newsmax Finance Insider said.

“But it’s a phenomenal opportunity. I kinda like to look at it from the plus side,” Kudlow said, LifeZette reported.

“What I do know is that Obamacare is one gigantic tax hike and one gigantic regulatory hike," said Kudlow — host of "The Larry Kudlow Show" and author of "JFK and the Reagan Revolution: A Secret History of American Prosperity," written with Brian Domitrovic and published by Portfolio.

"So, let’s get rid of the mandates and every other tax in Obamacare. And let’s open the competition. Let’s go in other states. Let’s give consumers choice,” said Kudlow, who served as the Donald Trump campaign's senior economic adviser.

Kudlow is vehemently against waiting to pursue tax reform until Obamacare has been dismantled and replaced.

“I don’t want to lose the business tax cuts,” said Kudlow, said who worked as Reagan’s budget deputy between 1981 and 1985.

“If you do healthcare first, Laura, you’re not gonna get businesses in office. Not gonna happen. And if you wait to the end of the year and push it into next year … the economy will grow 1-2 [percent] again. And I don’t want that to happen,” said Kudlow, who during the first term of the Reagan administration (1981–1985) was associate director for economics and planning in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

While he worked at the OMB, Kudlow was also an advisory committee member of the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, more commonly known as Freddie Mac.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Paul Ryan plans for the House of Representatives to vote on House leaders' Obamacare alternative plan in three weeks, sources told Politico

Ryan said Trump's administration and the Senate support the House GOP leadership in the effort.

Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price has been meeting with conservatives who oppose the Ryan plan — far right members of the House saw those moves as signals to sign on to the plan, the sources said.

Senior Republicans are saying that conservatives who vote against the plan will have to face their constituents, who have called for the repeal for years, sources told Politico.

Trump will tell opponents "they're either for this or for keeping Obamacare," according to a Politico source.
