What is the Weight Watchers Diet

Monday, 22 Nov 2010 03:50 PM

While diet fads come and go, the Weight Watchers plan has been around for quite some time. It incorporates several different aspects to formulate a sound weight loss plan that has a proven track record of helping dieters lose weight.
The Weight Watchers diet includes a wide array of meetings and diet plans combined with products, magazines, online services, and e-tools.  The diet is different from the Herbalife concept and is based on the principle of calorie reduction that is calculated through “points system.”

The plan does not restrict or forbid any particular food. It is all about restricting your intake to suit a specific or allocated number of calorie points that you are allowed to accumulate every day. Weight checks are done by following a weekly plan. People are invited to join weekly groups where they can
receive support and useful advice. These meetings give people an opportunity to exchange ideas and meet other dieters.

The plan does not encourage
fast weight loss and two pounds per week is the goal. The total points or equivalent food calories are decided on the basis of the two key factors of “total body weight” and “the target body weight.”

The main aim of dieting is to check your calories and regulate your food intake to avoid satisfying abnormal hunger pangs. It is all about healthy eating habits and weight loss plans that help people become a lot more disciplined in their diet.
