Michigan has more than its share of top-ranked colleges and universities. The state provides an ideal environment for students looking for first class education as well as rich campus life filled with recreation and leisure activities.
Most of the universities in the state also offer dual degree programs, which serve as a major attraction for students. Research is given more emphasis in the state universities and most have been classified as high research universities. The top five renowned colleges and universities in Michigan are:

The University of Michigan. Located in Ann Arbor, the University of Michigan is one of the oldest in the state and ranks 25th in the list of top American universities by the US News & World Report. The university, which has satellite campuses in Dearborn and Flint, offers both graduate and undergraduate programs. Students can select programs in disciplines such as aerospace engineering, astronomy and astrophysics, bio informatics, art and design, business administration, and communication studies. Michigan State University.  Located in East Lansing, the school is listed as a Public Ivy for its world-class research activities. Western Michigan University.
