Here are some tips for getting started to install new speakers in your car:
  • Ensure that you buy speakers of the right size and shape by measuring the speakers that came installed with the car.
  • The two types of speakers that can be installed are coaxial speakers and component speakers. Coaxial speakers are common and cheap. It is easier to integrate midrange sound by incorporating a woofer and tweeter into a single unit. They are simpler to install, but generally give low sound quality.  Component speakers are a set of multiple units, which include woofers, subwoofers, and tweeters, installed at different locations in the car, with each component producing its own sound, thus giving a kind of concert quality to the music. These speakers are more expensive and are harder to install.
  • Before you buy speakers for the car, it is best to listen to them to make sure that they produce the desired sound quality.
  • Check if your system’s built-in amplifier supplies enough power to the new components; otherwise, you may need to replace this also.
  • Acquiring component speakers with an amplifier can cost you around $200; therefore, to economize, it is better to do the installation yourself. 
  • Installing speakers may need some cutting and drilling, it may also involve putting new parts like tweeters and woofers, as well as soldering. If you are not comfortable doing such work, you should leave installation to professionals. 
  • You can do some research on discount car speakers. The best way to do so is online. Figure out which speakers you need to buy by searching for different makes. The issue is to find out where you can buy the best quality speakers, at cheap rates or discounted prices.
