Wednesday, 17 Aug 2011 11:24 AM

Eight injuries were reported after lightning struck at SeaWorld’s Discovery Cove water park in Orlando, FL, reports Newser.

Firefighters were called to the water park around 5 p.m. on Tuesday after a storm ripped through central Florida. Meteorologists had warned the storm would produce “excessive” lightning.

Though no one was killed in the lightning strike, five employees and three guests were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for lightning-related injuries.

The victims have since been released from medical care.
