The long-troubled son on Ryan O’Neal and the late Farrah Fawcett ended up in hot water again when he was arrested Tuesday in Santa Monica, California, reports Radar Online

Redmond O’Neal was pulled over by police after running a red light, and upon inspection of the vehicle, O’Neal was taken into custody for possessing heroin. “The officer stopped him for the traffic violation. A search of the vehicle was done and narcotics were recovered,” said a police spokesperson.

The 26-year-old was less than a year shy of graduating from a court-ordered treatment program stemming from a pair of drug-related offenses. He remains on probation for a 2009 incident during which O’Neal brought narcotics onto the grounds of a jail facility.

O’Neal will be arraigned Thursday at the LAX Airport Courthouse. “I don’ know at this point what charges he will be facing,” said O’Neal’s attorney, Richard Pintal.
