Rebecca Black, the then-thirteen-year-old whose music video “Friday” went viral last year, hasn’t let stardom slip through her fingers.
Now fourteen and sporting a more grown-up set of bangs, she has self- released a new single, “This is My Moment," last night. Gawker calls the single “a love letter to all her haters.”
A loose reprise of “Friday,” the new single has a similar teen-sensation vibe, but now features Black’s dance moves which Gawker calls not half-bad. So far the video has seen over 600,000 hits on YouTube.
Since the video’s release, Black has appeared on CBS’s Early Show where she admits the pressure to produce another hit to rival “Friday” was “hard.” “Friday” received 167 million hits on YouTube.
