Dying Di Picture to Be Seen for First Time

A never-before-seen paparazzi photograph of dying Princess Diana is to make its debut in a movie documentary being unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival.
But the movie, “Unlawful Killing” will not be shown in Britain, where the decision to use the photo is causing outrage, reports the Daily Mail.
The movie is backed by Mohammed Fayed, whose son Dodi was dating Diana and was also killed in the crash. Fayed has long accused British authorities — and even the Royal Family — of deliberately causing the crash so the mother of a future king would never marry a Muslim.
Fayed’s partner in the venture, actor Keith Allen says the decision not to show the movie in Diana’s homeland is a “pity” as it would have been a “welcome antidote to the sugar rush of the Royal Wedding.”
Diana’s close friend Rosa Monckton said the decision to use the photograph was “disgusting.”
The Mail says the photo clearly shows the princess’s features as she is minutes from death.
Diana, Fayed, and their driver were all killed in the crash in a Paris tunnel in August 1997. Photographers chasing their car were accused of causing the accident and were first on the scene.
The movie will get its first viewing on Friday. Fayed — who referred to the Royals as “that Dracula family” during Diana’s inquest — is said to be going to Cannes for the launch.
