Cell phone and cell phone services have been on a huge evolutionary roll lately with the introduction of Android phones and 3G and 4G networks.  Believe it or not, some of these newer cell phone networks are faster than some home network connections. However, the actual speed of these networks is determined by the service providers. So, which company has the fastest phone service network? Here is a list of the various service providers in order of network speeds, highest first.

National Results: These are rated according to speed and consistency.

AT&T
While AT&T may not be the most consistent network, it gets the blue ribbon in speed over the four most popular networks with a speed index level of 93. It boasts download speeds of around 1.79-2.75 and upload speeds of 0.28-0.36. AT&T's upload speeds are below the other network providers and their consistency is around 86%.

Cricket
Cricket takes the number two spot for speed, mostly due to their consistency and upload speeds. Their rate of consistency is over 95% with download speeds of 0.94-1.54 and upload speeds of 0.34-0.43. You can see their upload speeds are higher than AT&T's. There is no current mobile speed index for this provider.

Sprint 3G
Sprint 3G is a very popular network coming in a close third to Cricket's network. Its mobile speed index rating is 76 and its consistency is 95.9%. Download speeds for this network range from 0.99-1.26 and upload speed ranges from 0.30-0.37.

T-Mobile
Ranking fourth among other providers, T-Mobile's network has a mobile speed index of 83 and consistency rating of 92.78%. Their download speeds are between 1.17-2.26 and upload speeds range from 0.34-0.63. T-Mobile's ranking is very likely to change this year as they have now rolled out their new HSPA technology.

Verizon
Fifth place is given to the Verizon network with a 67 mobile speed index rating and consistency rating of 89.20%. Their network provides download speeds of 0.88-1.05 and upload speeds of 0.34-0.36.

Sprint 4G
Finally, bringing up the rear is Sprint 4G. This rating will not last long and could soon surpass even AT&T in the coming months due to the upgrades and new technologies in place for the coming year. The consistency level is 92.59% for this network and there is currently no mobile speed index. The download speeds are 3.09 across the board and upload speeds come in around 0.46.
