Paula Deen Fires Back at Bourdain's Caustic Comments

Friday, 19 Aug 2011 02:33 PM

Anthony Bourdain, ‘No Reservations’ star chef, unloaded about fellow food personalities including Paula Deen in a recent TV Guide Magazine interview, reports the Miami Herald
“The worst, most dangerous person to America is clearly Paula Deen. She revels in unholy connections with evil corporations and she’s proud of the fact that her food is [expletive] bad for you . . .”
Paula Deen fired back at Bourdain’s criticisms, saying that he “needs to get a life.”
“You don’t have to like my food, or Rachael [Ray]’s, Sandra [Lee]’s and Guy [Fieri]’s. But it’s another thing to attack our character,” she said.
“I wake up every morning happy for where I am in life. It’s not all about the cooking, but the fact that I can contribute by using my influence to help people all over the country,” the Georgia native said.
“My good friends Rachael, Guy, and Sandra are the most generous charitable folks I know . . .They give so much of their time and money to help food-deprived, sick children and abandoned animals. I have no idea what Anthony has done to contribute besides being irritable,” Deen said.
Bourdain went on later in the interview to criticize Guy Fieri, Sandra Lee, and Rachael Ray.
Of Fieri he said, “Jesus, I’m glad that’s not me,” and went on to lambast Rachael Ray for what he believes is her inability to cook.
“I don’t know why she bothers. To her credit, she never said she was good at it.”
